My Bio
Hey everybody. My name is Jasmine Davis and I currently attend The Cleveland Institute of Art, it's my third year here. I double major in Ceramics and Hot Glass Blowing and I LOVE it! My art (ceramics) speaks about what I have been through in my life. And the troubles I faced, that being the topic of abuse and rape. I turn the clay material into abstracted sculpture. I like to play with my viewers head and having their reaction to my pieces be something total off of what my intent was as far as the concept. I love to challenge myself as well as my audience.
When I graduate I see myself being in New York, one day I want to own an art gallery and have it be meant for people with disabilities but who always have a artistic talent. That's my goal in which I will achieve. Hope yall enjoy my work.

Why do you think artist make? Is it for recognition, is it to get that satisfaction of another being interested? If so why, shouldn't we find joy within our own work, by our own making because we enjoy it that much? We shouldn't have to define our joy based off what others think or feel. Make because there is nothing you rather be doing, make because its your God's gift, make because you can express yourself, bringing light to many situations. What I'm trying to say is make for you, not for others. What do you think?

Jasmine!! How are you? And how'd that last sculpture turn out?
Everything is great! Super busy though, I'm still working on my current sculpture. It's huge and when I was making it I didn't look at how big it was. Its 3 feet wide and taller then one foot and I still have to add onto it so geeeeeesh, call me crazy! How are you?!
Lol woooow, that sounds crazy haha. I've been good, classes going great and im just trying to start a new portrait between this week and next week. Just need somebody interesting to paint lol.
